Job Description

Mori is seeking an Operations Field Technician who is experienced in both commercial field operations and research trials with a focus in leafy greens. The role is based out of our Salinas, CA office but will require coordination and travel throughout California, Oregon, and/or Nevada (50%) April through November, and then will work in California and/or Arizona to conduct highly collaborative field trials. Responsibilities will include the following (which are subject to change):

  • Executing transfer and application of Mori Silk product during leafy green harvests
  • Executing pilots of new and current products with new produce growers, including information gathering
  • Working collaboratively with various operational and R&D functions at Mori
  • Assisting in report generation from new data packages when relevant
  • Assisting the in the design of pilot activities with Mori crews to be implemented with new growers
  • Support the scaling and service activities with various growers as directed
  • Interacting with our internal FSQ teams and aiding in data gathering or SOP adjustment when necessary
  • Interacting with external FSQ teams when relevant
  • Representing Mori in a technical and operational capacity in-field
  • Participating in handoffs between product development and commercial activities
  • Contributing to a highly enthusiastic, respectful, “roll up your sleeves” and welcoming environment
  • Traveling to relevant growing regions as needed, expecting frequent and consistent travel, particularly seasonally
  • Working overnights, depending on the location and weekends when needed

Compensation

  • Base salary range from $71,000 - $78,000 based on experience.

Ideal candidates will have the following qualifications:

  • Associates Degree and +3 years relevant experience
  • Willingness to learn Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Food Safety regulations
  • Experience working in agricultural production or extension services
  • Reliable team player with excellent problem-solving skills
  • Strong internal and external-facing communication skills
  • Experience with Microsoft, Google suite and Dropbox or similar, preferred
  • Fluency in Spanish and English required
  • Ability to work independently
