About Us

We’re here to improve billions of people’s lives. We envision a world where everyone has access to the comfort and safety of sustainable heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration.

Pascal was founded by chemists who enjoy exploring the highly unusual interfaces between chemistry, thermal science, and mechanical engineering. When we started, we didn’t know what was possible, which worked to our advantage. Now, our mission is better refrigeration through materials science.

We’re building a company where geeking out on the details is celebrated, where we draw out everyone’s creativity to do the impossible, and where the pace of discovery is so fast that people have to stay emotionally resilient and open to new information on a daily basis. But we’re also the type of company where, when things are at their hardest - we find a way to come together and enjoy it.

If you resonate with the desire to make a big impact in the world of HVACR and help build the type of company we describe, please do apply, even if you don’t check every single box on the job description. We’re a VC-backed company based in Cambridge, MA tackling a multibillion dollar opportunity, and we truly value having diverse perspectives on our team.

About the Role

Pascal is seeking a Business Development Associate to assist in identifying, assessing, and pursuing the commercialization of Pascal’s novel cooling/refrigeration technology. The Associate will work with the COO on a range of activities that support the technical development team, guide strategic decisions, and develop relationships with potential customers and suppliers to support building the business. The Associate will interview various stakeholders in the value chain, synthesize, and communicate insights.

Pascal has validated its core solid refrigerant technology in the laboratory and now seeks to develop a kW-scale heat pump prototype. The completion of this prototype requires design and testing of several thermal and fluidic subsystems, integration of the solid refrigerant into an overall thermodynamic cycle, and modeling of the thermal and fluid flows within the system. Chemical engineers will work closely with the technical founding team to design, model, and optimize the prototype and its subsystems, integrate those systems with the solid refrigerant module, and provide support to the materials science team on optimal solid refrigerant properties. Beyond direct work on the prototype, chemical engineers will also engage in technological development in line with the company’s technical roadmap.
